The Equine Veterinary Assistant supports veterinarians in providing medical care to horses. This role involves assisting with examinations, treatments, and surgeries, as well as maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Please note: Work may be performed in various settings, including clinics, stables, and farms hot and cold.
Monday - Friday: 8 AM - 5 PM
Saturday: 8 AM - 12 PM
Pay range: $16 - $20
Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures.
Handle and restrain horses safely and effectively.
Prepare and maintain medical equipment and supplies.
Administer medications and treatments as directed.
Monitor the health and behavior of horses.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Clean and sterilize instruments and work areas.
Provide client education on horse care and health.
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with horses and knowledge of equine care.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
