Eastern Animal Hospital is looking for dedicated and skilled Veterinary Technicians/Assistants to join our team! We are a 12-doctor practice with a strong focus on collaboration, hospitality, and clinical excellence, and we know that our success depends on the strength of our patient care team. That’s why we invest in your growth, prioritize your well-being, and empower you to practice at the height of your abilities.

 

Pay $19.00 - $25.00 p/hr, depending on experience, skill, and RVT status.

  • Organization Skills: Clear tracking of lab specimens, medications, patient instructions, workflow, and other job-related items while managing multiple patients and clients.
  • Client Satisfaction: Ensuring all activities and interactions result in the highest level of client satisfaction.

Essential Responsibilities

What You'll Do:
  • Treat each patient and customer with the highest level of compassion and care
  •  Utilize your technical skills to safely and compassionately restrain patients, perform phlebotomy, place IV catheters, take radiographs, monitor anesthesia, and administer medications and treatments
  • Work directly with pet owners to obtain a full patient history, provide education, and discharge patients
  • Develop advanced patient care skills
  • Build lasting professional relationships with team members and doctors

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Ability to work evenings and rotating weekends
  • Previous veterinary experience
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician strongly preferred
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
  • Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
  • Basic math and the ability to calculate medication dosages
  • Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS office applications, etc.
  • Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety
