Since 1993, Oakbrook Animal Hospital has been a trusted cornerstone of veterinary care for pets and their people in Johnson County and the Gardner area. As a multi-doctor, full-service practice, we’re proud to provide exceptional preventative care, diagnostics, surgery, and wellness guidance—all while honoring the incredible bond between pets and their humans.

We’re currently seeking a Part-Time Associate Veterinarian to join our passionate, experienced, and tight-knit team. Meet Our Medical Team

Our veterinary crew is a collaborative bunch who love what they do and support one another every step of the way:

  • Dr. Hillary Henslee, who joined in 2019, is passionate about cardiology and dentistry.

  • Dr. Eden Logan, our newest team member, focuses on surgery, nutrition, and dentistry.

  • Dr. Becky DuBose joined the Oakbrook team after relocating to Kansas in 2024. She has a special love for soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and client education.

  • Dr. Larry Garten, a part of the Oakbrook family since 2002, is known for his clinical excellence and warm client communication.

Essential Responsibilities

  • What You’ll Do

    • Perform thorough exams and diagnostics to assess pet health

    • Interpret lab results and operate diagnostic equipment

    • Provide thoughtful treatment plans and client education

    • Conduct routine and advanced surgical procedures

    • Prescribe medications and treatment protocols

    • Support pet owners through end-of-life decisions with compassion

    • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records

    • Uphold the highest standards of ethics and compliance

Requirements/Qualifications

  • What We’re Looking For

    • DVM or equivalent degree from an AVMA-accredited institution

    • Licensed (or eligible) to practice in Kansas

    • DEA/BNDD eligibility

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    • A collaborative spirit and client-first mindset

    • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (and more with assistance when needed)
