Wise County Animal Clinic first opened its doors to the Wise County, TX community in 1956, setting an exceptional standard of veterinary care and services for over 60 years. Position Purpose

Wise County Animal Clinic is a two and a half doctor practice looking to add a new team member who has a go-getter attitude and is ready to enjoy our incredibly fun practice. We strive to establish a friendly environment wherein our clients can enjoy a relationship of trust and transparency with our staff. Our veterinarians stay abreast of new, innovative ways to enhance and extend our patients' lives through continued education. We have updated in-house laboratory with radiology and ultrasound capabilities. We are open to a veterinarian of any experience level and can provide support and mentorship to a new grad. Our team practices medicine with skill and heart every day and our clients are devoted, appreciative, compliant, and highly invested in their pet’s health. About the area: Decatur has become a great destination for all walks of life.  We pride ourselves in being a friendly "down-home" city. Although we are a small city, we offer all of the amenities of a larger city.  We have 6 parks, a regional hospital, tons of shopping and eateries, a large library....the list goes on and on.  Even if we don't have it, it's always in reach.  Fort Worth, Grapevine, Keller, and Denton are all 45 minutes or under away.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
